Lauren is a Vinyasa trained yogini, taught by Keren Cooksey, owner & founder of Falmouth Yoga Space. She has completed the 200hr RYT along with a group of other lovely women, now teaching at Fal Yoga space.

As well as being a teacher, she is a talented illustrator and keen surfer.

For classes, Lauren teaches Thursdays at 7:30PM and Fridays at 9:30AM.

Something Lauren and I touched up on was how positive it is to dive into the unknown. The individuals unknown this is. For example if you tend on be an Introvert then why not delve into an extrovert - type activity? See where it leads you!

For example, I have set myself the challenge of trying out a new class or two each week. This is my way of exploring my limits and my once pre loved activities, such as Tennis and Dance which I am now re-embarking.

Dance, because I believe it to be one of the best ways of expression and I feel it connects fluidly with who I am and my yoga practice. Tennis, because it was something once quite important to me and for some reason I let it slip away. I want to see if I still hold the fire for it within me. Almost test myself and trigger that spark.

It was inspiring to speak to someone who almost affirmed these things for me, speaking to me a little about how yoga came into their life. How it is almost crucial to do things which might scare us a little or intimidate us. The magic happens when you try things out of your comfort zone and feel the adrenaline after accomplishing what you once might not have seen yourself doing.

Lauren works from home on her beautiful illustrations. This is a stark contrast to then teaching a class such as yoga where you then have to be vocal and have a duty of care, of knowledge and of responsibility. It is a challenge, for everyone! One in which she has succeeded in greatly.

I know this after I tried out Lauren's 9:30am class, which was fab. Rocking out of bed at 8:30am, I couldn't quite believe it when I heard the alarm. Surely, it's not the morning already? As per usual, I had set about 10 different alarms. On the last "Ding!" I forced myself out. Time to get up. Hair looking as though I had been dragged out of a rather abnormal bush & eyes very panda like, I reminded myself that the luxury of staying in bed now, would be the frustration of missing an ace yoga class later. And, missing opportunities is something I no longer allow myself to do if possible. This was totally worth it. Thank you Lauren.

I was told how fantastic the teaching training course was, how much she has learnt from it and how wonderful it is to have this knowledge and ability. It's almost like a super power! To have this rooted understanding & capability, which is special and from deep within. It takes years of practice to really master the art of yoga. So why not begin now and find your hidden super powers?

No matter how little, or how much you know, Practice is the key to anything. It is a way for your soul to grow & expand into the divinity within that each and everyone of you have.

Most of us are soul searchers in some way or another, but it is rare for someone to wholly connect with all their elements. There is the physical element and the mental. The two which are mostly spoken of on a day to day basis. The physical can be ones appearance and how one might physically feel, where as the mental is linked with emotion and ones thought process. Delving further, there's the aura and the vibes you give out to your surroundings.

Sometimes it takes that little something to find this equilibrium and explore who and what you really are. Yoga is a great way to discover this and something I can 100% vouch for and recommend. Today is just one of many examples I have had from meeting inspirational yoga teachers and women who practice. How it has changed their lives for the better and created more space for even more wonderful things.

As well as teaching, check out Lauren's Illustration work. She produces beautiful book covers, floral, garment, and Fashion illustrations.
