The Eden project is an educational charity which collaborates with creatives working to improve the natural world whilst exploring how a better future can be made.

I recently visisted on Valentines day, taking the opportunity to shoot away at the glorious gardens and good vibes by which I was sourrounded by. (More photos on Gallery 'Earth' section of the website.)

Eden consists of some beautiful projects, exhibitions, workshops, gardens and events. The money raised at Eden goes toward projects and learning programmes.

Eden began in 1995 as a clay pit, then sketches appeared in 1996 and the constructions started in October of 1998.

Here is a link to how Eden was built. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzAzLRtfbGs

Harvesters, community growing, various charities, fitness and art are all supported through The Eden Project.

Harvesters are supported from Africa through the Baobab. (Adansonia digitata ) This is a green fruit grown from white waxy flowers, which is a source of medicine, shelter and food for not only humans but various other animals too. When ripe, Baobab contains a pale powder from its black seeds tasting tangy. It is rich is Vitamin C, antioxidants and calcium and can be used in smoothies and food. It is a fruit which Africans have been eating for centuries but has recently been brought into the West as a 'superfood' as it is said to boost ones health. Some of its properties help in settling the stomach, fighting fevers and boosting general health in Pregnant woman, children and the elderly.

Baobab at The Eden project is brought in from Rural harvester groups in Malawi helping to provide an income for people, but also giving money to phyto trade, Africa - http://phytotrade.com/ a natural product industry established in 2001 with a purpose to 'Alleviate poverty and protect biodiversity.'

The Eden Project also supports carbon reduction projects worldwide in partnership with ClimateCare. This fund however also supports Edens programme working on Climate Change within the UK. This ranges from school educational projects to public events and conferences.

As you can see, there is nothing pessimistic to be said about this incredibly positive place as all it does it goodness. To give money / view the online shop for sustainable products go to .. https://www.edenproject.com/shop/

To visit, Eden is open from 9am to 6pm. Tickets can be bought online at a 10% discount (a day in advance) or at the centre itself.

I hope to go back very soon and continue my visual storytelling of this magical place.
