Happy New year!
This year will be full of exciting shoots where I aim to push myself to my photographic limit and produce my best work yet. This is the year - 2016.
My first week back and I already have 2 shoots planned, with two lovely Yogis. I have shot them before, however the shoots will be in different settings and composed very differently. As I have photographed / met Naomi and Keren before, I hope they feel even more comfortable in front of the camera.
The first is on Tuesday late afternoon, at Pendennis Shipyard this time (rather than the previous location) where I will be capturing Naomi Webb teaching one of her classes.
The second is Friday with Keren in her Yoga space. I have thought carefully about the types of poses I want to use with Keren and Naomi. Here are some which inspire me from Pinterest. I have realised the importance of composition and the thought process of shape and flow within yoga.
For example, the last shoot I had with Keren was fairly spontaneous and so I hadn't done much research (if I am to be completely honest) so this time around will be super organised! I did however capture one great pose where it showed me how I am more than capable, but with a bit more thought put behind which poses etc I could get some great shots!
Below are some of the images which really caught my eye.

These are some of the photos which have inspired me. I feel the black and white ones really stand out and make a statement. They also portray the image to be timeless
Yoga is very much a flow, a lot like dance. This is what I really want to try and capture within my photography for the next couple of shoots. I do not want the images to appear posed, but to appear natural and completely in the moment. The photo should portray the woman in her mindful state.
I very much look forward to Tuesday and Friday to see what my new year, new me skills bring!
Namaste!
