Grattitude is the vitamin for the soul.

Every year, the US and Canada have one day of the year they call 'Thanksgiving.' It's a National holiday used to celebrate with their Families. Food and Football is the oasis of this day. In the United States, it is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November.

In Canada, it is the second Monday of October.

However I see this day as an opportunity to embrace Grattitude and remind myself of this and others too. Something which is important to remember everyday and something easily forgotten, thrown to the side as you may.

Thanksgiving also has a lot to do with Mindfulness. Anthony Robins once said that When you are grateful, fear disappears and abundance appears.

It is the most powerful force from the universe. Fear cannot be completely erased from us all, as it is something always niggling in the back of our minds, however we can work towards eliminating it. Those who go beyond this however discover success and are able to unblock the negative and move toward the light.

Let us use Thanksgiving as a prime example of what everyday should be like. Thankful. Grateful. Positive. Revolved around the love for our friends and our family. Our lives. Beautiful. Perhaps you can choose one thing in particular to be thankful for today. Remind yourself not to take anything for granted. A special friend in particular? Your love? Family? Yourself?

I know I am especially thankful for certain people I am lucky enough to be a part of my life.

My good friend Sara Gonzalez for one whose 22nd birthday it is today. She came into my life completely unexpectedly and we have become more than good friends. She is family. There for me 24/7, never failing to make me laugh to the point that I will even snort. Embarassing, but true!

My parents. The constant support and unconditional love I recieve from them everyday. Although they are miles away, I can be sure that if I am ever in need they are one train ride away.

My sister. I always get a bundle of love and encouragement from her, I often wonder if I am the older sister. Alexandra is someone I really look up to. One of the bravest, most hard working and beautiful people on this planet with so much love in her heart, mine often bursts with admiration.

My boyfriend. Someone I used to walk past on the street (as we did not know one another then) And .. now he has become one of the most important people in my life. Crazy is it not? The constant laughter he brings into my daily life and the complete acceptance and willingness to try new things is something so special, so unique. I am grateful for this.

We are so different. Something too, I am grateful for. Through one another we balance both our characters creating a stable lifestyle.

Myself. These past 5 years have been somewhat a challenge, but everyday am growing stronger. Experience is what shapes us as people. And I have learnt and am learning constantly from myself.

My Yogi's and Craftsman are people I admire big time and enjoy spending time with and photographing for my project and for this website.

Show your loved ones how much you care and love them. Do not be afraid to say so. It is the little things in life which make the biggest difference. Love unconditionally. As Rachel Brathen says (and as I have mentioned before) 'Live with your heart wide open.'

You might only regret the opportunities you did not take. Today is an opportunity.

Send a tweet to earthwater_soul with what you are graretful for. The link to my twitter is at the top of the page.

The Dalai Lama says that “Every day, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others; to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others. I am going to benefit others as much as I can.”

Lets, together try and do this.

Here are some Affirmations, taken from MD Junction - People helping people.

I feel an abundance of gratitude for everything I have and receive every day.

My needs and desires are generously met. For this I am thankful.

I am grateful for all the great health, love, and goodness that my life has revealed to me.

I am continually amazed at how abundant my life is already!

I am grateful for everything I experience in this lifetime. I overcome, I grow, and I prosper all the time. My abundant blessings, as well as my difficulties, all make me better, stronger, and more alive.

I am so grateful for every person and every thing in my life.

I appreciate everything I have and I show my sincerest gratitude to my loved ones.

The universe pours joy into my life every day. It has my cup overflowing with wealth, health, and love.

My life is singular, unique and wondrous. For this I am profoundly thankful.

I clearly see the beauty of life that flourishes around me.

Maybe try and create some of your own. Or repeat these to yourself. Affirmations are a great way to show your thanks to not only yourself but your sourroundings and the universe. It puts a very positive energy out there and what you give out comes back to you. Choose to have peace in your life and be stress free.

Namaste Friends x
