Rachel Brathen

Rachel Brathen, also known as Yoga girl.

She is a Swedish beauty and an international role model for a large portion of the world’s population. With over 1.7 million followers on Instagram she has become the Queen of yoga on social media. Her website consists of a regularly updated blog, retreat info, workshops, contact, shop and her story. Rachel has become a New York best selling author, a yoga teacher living in Aruba and a motivational speaker across the planet. This has all happened across a short period of time due to her drive to strive and shine for who she is.

Rachel Brathen is a huge inspiration that sparkles brightly to many people including myself, as her outlook toward life is completely magnificent and continuously optimistic.

Her website in particular and the honesty she holds within her Photography on her Instagram. her writing below her images is truly an inspiration for my project and something I very much look up too. I sincerely hope to succeed in being as true to myself, my work and my beliefs as much as she is.

Below, is a recent TED X video where she performed a motivational speech in Aruba her home. The speech is based on Social Media and what she has learnt from this.

I find it interesting as I have recently (past few years) looked at social media in a particularly negative manner in terms of how it has affected me. I find it can be toxic and diminishing.

Nonetheless, individuals such as Yoga girl have given me light and hope to not yet give up on society and its values. I believe this is something we can together change. Little blogs such as the one I have started can become something universal and completely unexpected. Rachel is an example of this. And this video is an example of her values and morals.
